Yes, but it takes a village/nation and intelligent systems to address kids being killed in our country. Adopting one kid does nothing. Funding free pre school, adequate social programs, etc, is the type of response that is necessary. We need the proper social systems which ONLY the dems know how to develop and implement. And we cannot get those until the war is won against the right wing nuts like Sarah Palin and the Republican party. We need an FDR and a democratic congress to solve the myriad problems we face. There is no other road that I see. So that is where we must focus our efforts. The children we leave behind in this country have nothing to do with the 50,000 on our boarders. We need to address both, not one or the other.
