Well, that's true. But if you compare the credit card interest rate and minimum payment for a 2 to 4 yr payoff amount to the 125 where at least some of the loan interest on a lower rate will be deductible with a 15/30 year amortization feature, then the 125 is still better.

Plus, as Dick will attest, people receiving a 1098 INT form will deduct all of it and take their chances. I know what the article says, but will audit resources be dedicated to looking for excess interest deductions for the middle class?
