J,

Thank you for your post but please don't take the b------- comment to heart, I'm simply trying to scare off anyone looking for guidance from any of us frequent posters.

I have printed out the quote from that book and have it over my pc.

I used previous years bottoms, with corresponding valuation multiples, to find my proposed further entry points. I do hope they happen.

The longer the bottom takes to occur, the firmer the footing will be, imo. In retrospect, the problem with the 1997 run was that we weren't close enough to 2000-2001.As you propose, in 1 year, we will be close enough to the series of major upgrades. Another one that will help will be the increased scalability of windows NT. This will happen with the version that will come out in 1999, as MSFT finally impacts the highest end with impunity.Huge amounts of memory will gobbled up per unit sold.

Signing off,

Gene
