Yes, they've made several strategic mistakes which are now catching up with them. Of course, what tech company their size hasn't?

I've recently bought a Win 8 (now 8.1) laptop, and I like it. But it is a MASSIVE change in user interface from any previous version of Windows, and most non-techie people greet it with shock and confusion. They want to know WHY MS created this thing that made all their hard-won expertise obsolete.

It's because MS wanted an OS that looked the same on phones, tablets, touchscreen computers and traditional PC's. Apple, facing the same question, created two OS's.

The main problem for MS is business needs to move up from System 7, and they DO NOT want to move to System 8. The latest Apple OSX is more similar to previous MS OS's than System 8 is.

I don't know what MS will do, or what American business will do, but it will be fascinating. MS has put their OS domination of the business space at risk. Might be a good time to buy some Apple?
