The states have the power to make their own marriage laws. The 10th Amendment gave that power to them.

Human rights are those rights considered to be natural (and inalienable) according to the human condition. Civil rights legislated usually based on some perceived social injustice existing between and/or among populations, and usually to correct an inequality. Legal rights are rights associated with underlying constitutional provisions that may spring from civil rights or natural rights, but also my simply concern the protection of fundamental well-being in an ordered society.

The key to all is a philosophical and moral understanding of "Right" which most human beings at any intellectual or educational level of understanding can experience. You've probably often heard the phrase "tha' jes ain't right shep" ...

In any event it would be to your best interest to gain an understanding of the distinctions. Think back to a time when you might have been confused about the right thing to do ... like why its good to feed the hungry, while not good to feed a hungry deer, dog food.
