Larry, In addition technically ASND's pattern is improving. Market Edge upgraded ASND friday from "avoid" to "neutral" and listed an early entry buy point if the stock closes above $26.50.....

Sincerely,

Doug F.

I keep thinking about something J. Cramer said on CNBC a few weeks ago...

When asked about Ascend and takeover possibilities, he flatly replied (not his exact words):

"It is not in Ascends best interests to be taken over now. In another quarter or two, when the acquisition with Cascade starts to bear fruit, the stock will be 50% higher than it is today."

I had bought Ascend a few days before for that exact same reason.
IMO the estimates for 98 are DEFINITELY too low. The recent confident statement about meeting 98 estimates by the CFO lends additional support. The estimates WILL go up.

I think of it this way. The industry growth is slowing to 16% next year. Ascend is one of the few players expected to grow faster than the industry. Ascend's earnings estimates are currently based on 10% growth (Ascend guided analyst short term expectations down a month or two back).

To summarize, It doesn't matter whether there is a buyout here or not. The doom-and-gloom naysayers will be proven wrong. Ask them if they are brave enough to be shorting ASND at these levels.
