We don't have open borders, and we won't have open borders. Most of these kids will be sent back. They don't qualify as refugees, even tho your heart bleeds for them.The process can be swift, or drag on. The only change in the applicable law will prolly be to treat the rest of the hemisphere the same way we treat Mexico and Canada undocumenteds.., swift deportation. "if we go hard on these kids we are playing the wingnuts game" If we go EZ, we are inviting 9 million of their equally endangered classmates to walk in, too. Immigration reform is needed. The House is sitting on a bill. Maybe Boehner will bring it to the floor in the lame duck session. Chances are 50-50 nothing will get done about the big picture until '17.
