To try and answer a couple questions and a comment...... Richard Birecki..... The tour guides name was Mark if memory serves correct. He was 29 years old, sandy blonde hair stands about 5' 10". If I am off base someone will correct me. Dan S...... Yes, they did address the problem and added the little extra select all button. Joe Malach found the article before the meeting and took the article to Daniel to get his comment. Credit goes to Joe on this one. For what its worth and just an opinion. Joe showed me the article at the meeting. I read through the whole piece and was amazed at the one sided view of the article. The testing showed BAY to have the better product, yet when you read the results at the bottom, they both matched up equally well, with the two exceptions that have been remedied, and the price was substantially less expensive from MRVC. Joe had a theory that I agree with, and that is who does the highest volume of advertising in this publication? I will end it here before I get accused of having a conspiratorial slant. David..... you said <<<Is the diversity of the product line a help or a hindrance, e.g. can they get noticed and compete effectively against Lucent, Ciena, Pirelli, with WDM and against Cisco, 3COM, and Bay in networking?>>> David, I may be have walked away with the wrong idea from the annual meeting, and those in attendance please correct me if I am wrong, but it appears MRVC/NBase products will be more diverse than ever upcoming. With the engineer and manager searches that they are on now at MRVC (look at their web page for evidence), it appears more likely they will be expanding into new areas. There were several times at the meeting that led me to believe that an extended product line will be imminent. Now is this a help or hinderance...... I personally see it as a help. Granted there will be more cash diverted to R&D in the near term and also in the sales and marketing area. However, the rewards should come as the products hit the market. The main thing as I see it is if they can get the product developed, they have to create a market which in some cases will run hand in hand with the products they currently sell but in others they may have a small amount of pioneering ahead.
