But what isn't arguable is that when the Jews first settled in Israel, whenever and however it was, it was NOTHING. Nobody wanted it, it was seen as useless ground. Ever since then someone has wanted to steal that land from them. It is silly to argue that 1946 is a more meaningful date than 1920 or 1922. It is silly to argue that any date in the last few hundred years is meaningful. The Jews never gave up that land willingly.
