[Word from the Mountain. . .]

<<<
''The world wants high-speed access to the Internet and more. It expects its PCs to become multi-function household and office appliances, providing new and faster services for communications, information and entertainment,'' said Mundie in his keynote presentation at the ADSL Forum Summit meeting in San Francisco
last week. He told the audience of nearly 450 executives and professionals from the communications and computer industries that all future Microsoft Windows operating systems will incorporate support for ADSL technology.>>>

You know, when the director of the GTE trials told me Craig Mundie had an Amati modem in his home and practically drug people off the street to show it off, I knew we'd hear about it again some day.

This is the first I've seen the news. It's absolutely thrilling to see the guys at the top of the Mountain spreading the word.

If you live in the San Jose area, watch out for a large contingent of Texans. I understand they're here for an extensive planning session. TI didn't buy Amati because MSFT and GTE were planning to scuttle ADSL. Nope. They've been planning their moves with admirable precision.

Like flies to wanton boys. . .

I'm with Dug, though. Let's get on with pooling our resources and finding other ways to play the technology.

How about taking a look at Anicom? ANIC. It's certainly a way to benefit from both cable and DSL. It covers the waterfront.
