It is a typical tactic by Israel propagandists. Conflate Jews and Israel and that means if you are critical of Israel then you are anti-Semitic. Granted, Israel does have a large proportion the Jews in the world. But there are more in the US. Israel would not exist but for the US. We insisted the Brits set up the two states. We supplied arms and other aid to Israel. We set up the network of despotic states across the Middle East and convinced them to lay off of Israel. We have turned a blind eye when they spied on us, stole our nuclear technology and killed our sailors and citizens. Its interesting..........in 1922, the Brits started the process with the Palestine Mandate which was to include a home for the Jews but less than 20 years later, no longer were in favor of such a state........they were that turned off by the Zionists. And here comes the US that knew so little about world politics and affairs insisting that Israel be established over the objections of the Brits and the Arabs. Its a testament to the power of American Jews in this country. It might be worth it if we could count on them to help when we establish policy in the region, but we can't. They have a powerful minority of crazies that the leadership of Israel tries to appease. Like our own crazies, there is no such thing as compromise. They either get their way or they cause trouble. And one of their non-negotiable demands is that there is no two state solution. I consider their crazies Taliban lite.......much like our teapers. They are so rigid they make steel pipe look flexible. And the more reasonable Israelis... .for the past 20 years they have been emigrating......many to the US and CA. If you talk to any of these ex pats, they hate what Israel has become.Every time the Israelis elect a Prime Minister who tries to work towards peace and cooperate with the US, they elect a Sharon or a Netanyahu. Who then torpedoes what progress has been made. Yup. Certainly Hamas does not help the situation. It is a dependent/codependent relationship between the right wing crazies in Israel and Hamas. Each needs the other to maintain influence. And so it goes... Hamas was inevitable...........and it grows stronger and more clever as the extremists grow more powerful in Israel.. In the end, bullies will get attacked.........and that's what's happening to Israel. Israel is lucky that Syria, Iraq and Iran are pre occupied with their own problems.
