Arrrgg! Do I have to say again, that taxes on the rich need to be raised? Please believe me when I say that because I have NEVER suggested otherwise. But a sales tax and or the federal tax I was discussing or a gas tax - is a tax on everyone. And BTW, I favor all those taxes. I love them all including taxing the rich more - lots more. But that's not the point I was arguing epicure. I was arguing that these taxes aren't hurting the economy. That they are not only not hurting the economy but they are also lowering deficits. And that ........... is what I have been saying all along. So tax away. Tax the rich. Tax gasoline and tax California shoppers with a consumption tax so we can pay our bills. Pay for a good education and pay for roads and bridges.
