I have always admired your guts Alex and your brains. You have more guts than I have, to stand up to injustice. And I have a lot.

I am in your camp. I have always felt the reason segregation and racism and just plain stupid shit and all the other bad things lasted so long was because people were too polite.

I spent 30 years in politics rubbing elbows with the top politicians and beautiful people and going to their parties and watching them refuse to stand up for what was right. I expect nothing from the right wing, but I do expect something from the liberals as they know better.

My largest disappointment in life has been to watch the liberals either sell out or refuse to stand up for what is right. And boy have I seen some doozies. .

Racism, sexism and genderism simply would not have last so long if people had, had, the guts to speak out.

Most of the liberals did the right thing if it didn't cost them anything, but not if there was a price to pay.

I never held my tongue unless there was simply no choice at all. And there were many times I could have used a friend when I did speak out.

I mean to take nothing away from any of the fine posters on this thread all of whom I admire.

But I get tired of being out front so often. I don't like it, contrary to what many might think.

I often think god bless Alex and Wharfrat and Epicure who have been rocks about some very tough issues.

i think people are TOO nice

kinda why the Dems tend to lose elections despite the fact that the majority of Americans agree with their policies

but i will try to be more tactful and bite my tongue
