We can all remember when Japan was subsidizing some sectors like autos, TV's, etc. It works for a little while but sure is a drag on economies.<ggg> I think it is note worthy that CPQ & DELL have seemed to stop some Japanese box makers in their tracks. Things will change.

A few posts ago Mohan brought up a very valuable and interesting point: we ASSUME that Asia shares our capitalistic value system. They do not.
Capacity gluts force more expensive competitors out of business. In a society that understands barter better than equity valuation, and understands the need for a job more than the need for balance-sheet profit, the decisions made by asian governments are not ones made in the U.S.
