Joefly's one of the most wretched examples of your tribe. To his credit, he doesn't try to hide what he actually believes, as most of you do, but it's a truly UGLY belief system. You should be happy to lose him, just as the vast majority of your tribe pretends W never existed or was ever president.

I have a feeling he's about to be history. That would be too bad......I've had my moments with joseffy....I'm not a fan.....but in general I am opposed to censorship....I don't see anything joseffy has posted as any more pernicious or insulting than many on the other side....(leaving aside the ghastly photos he posted that cause potential harm to SI's biz). Is his offense that he does it more frequently, what's the cutoff? What qualifies as insulting? Who decides? For instance, I see the term "tea bagger" tossed around at people all the time...its a really disgusting epithet....but I don't see anyone banned for it... I find the serial posting joseffy does annoying....but he does make a point when he does it. I don't see anything in the TOU nor do I remember anything when I signed up indicating that it was required to participate on the financial side (as Dmitri commented joseffy did not).....I think there is a lot of confusion on the issue as to what is safe and what is not safe when it comes to posting here nowadays..... I do believe joseffy has a point about a double standard on SI. The standard seems more than a bit arbitrary and capricious to me and VERY unevenly applied. It seems to me censorship by SI is a bad idea....how hard would it be to monitor all the boards and apply the rod evenly? Very hard I imagine. It seems to me this has to be an all or nothing deal...either no "insults" allowed like the ban on sexy photos or anything goes....(which some exceptions, including not posting personal information about other posters online here...) As for me I am in favor of letting everyone have their say...Ideas and even insults are nothing to be afraid of.....I think we all have a tendency to think this forum is a lot more important than it is....
