Let's see... cost, speed, and reliability. Too bad there weren't some significant reasons, eh?

Oh yeah, I believe the limited and difficult up-grade path figured into IOMG bailing on *floptical tech* also.

The problem I have with your comments, Andy, is that they sound very much like a rehash of the old bear growls about how IOM just got lucky with Zip. And, that as soon as a real competitor with a real product showed up, IOM would be the next 1-trick-pony headed through the glue factory doors.

Dale's post says it all. I'm humbled to even try and post one same thread with such an erudite and solid presentation of basic factual information. IOM is not a trivial operation which will be easily derailed by any foreseeable competition....Sony or otherwise.
