8/1/14 Contest update Not a fun week for the planet. And the agitation on Wall Street is the least of it. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was down -.93% YTD (vs. down -.30% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 10.54% YTD (vs. up 12.33% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 4.22% YTD (vs. up 6.54% YTD a week ago). It was a rough week for the Contest Top Ten, but DEWDIL’s portfolio, up 34.60% YTD, managed to hold on to the lead. DIEGO’s portfolio, up 26.08% YTD moved to second place and DOUGH’s portfolio, up 24.83% YTD, slipped to third place. At Friday's close, 19 of the 46 Contest portfolios were in the black, while 14 of the 46 beat the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (SGMO) is down -11.23% YTD. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
