The new digital ones are completely safe - you just load the ingredients into it, put the top on, set the dial to pressure and punch the button for what you are making and hit start. Or you can key in the time on pressure and then hit start. The readout shows when it is under pressure and signals when the heat is off - converts to a warming heat so your food stays hot.

And I just bought a Wolfgang Puck pressure oven on HSN (special deal which ends in an hour) where they knock off $50 and free shipping. This is the other end of pressure cooking where the oven will brown and infuse the food with whatever liquid, spices etc you have added. And it takes anywhere from 1/2 to 1/3 the time to cook. Cooks a 15 lb turkey in 55 minutes...
