For far too long, the Israeli left has been far too passive. That may be changing. I hadn't seen that about the fighting. The Israeli government has been whitewashing their history and actions. I think that is behind the passivity. If you view things through the lens of the government mythology, Israel is fully justified. Yes, that mythology has invoked a great deal of fear and confusion in the Israeli left. They had become paralyzed. Maybe these Israeli missteps will knock them from their lethargy. Maybe Israel is having their Katrina moment... I hope so. Their current strategy is not a winning one.
