Hi Jim
At the risk of sounding like an eternal optimist I see good news in this. Competition is the catalyst for inovation. Fox will have all the more reason for offering an enhanced product.

One day they may even liscense it. I think thats why Fox wanted a long term agreement. They won't have to pay Actv any license till 2003.

To All, Had another question which I did not see mentioned elsewhere to my knowledge. My brother sent me a clipping from the Wall Street Journal about AT&T selling their interest in Direct TV. To quote from the clipping "the move to end the lackluster marketing venturecould free AT&T to pursue much grander alliances with cable-TV companies.." The article specifically mentions--you guessed it-- TCI. Another quote was " AT&T may seek to invest in one of Direct TV's cable competitors to beef up its internet and local phone efforts." Sorry I don't have the article to post, but I believe it was early in the week. Jim Mulis

Jim Mulis -

Yes, ESPN is beginning a push into regional sports similar to that of FoxSports. It was announced last week that ESPN would launch competion of such a channel in SoCal primarily aimed at Foxsports 2 channel in Orange County, CA.
