Gottfried, Can you help us with two questions?
1) If we assume that Quantum/MKE is highly experienced in low cost production, can companies like Maxtor or Samsung, with a history of not doing well, suddenly get close to the same level of costs when they suddenly have products with the same areal densities?

2) What is your perspective on the longer term competitve threat from IBM and are there any indications that they are holding back on production due to the pricing environment. (Acting responsibly to use the industry's terminology). SEG's IR indicated that they certainly didn't think IBM was holding back in the high end.

nasdaq march futures contract: NDH8
on the Globex: GNDH8

the correlation should be very high, as expectations of the future tend to become priced into the present. if i am a buyer of tech stocks as a group in march, but am worried about appreciation between now and then, i will buy futures today. there are, of course, tons of instances in which the relationship betw futures and underlying breaks down, but it is mostly on small-move days.

thanks in advance for your analysis.
