Money talks. When his business buddies start hurting, they are going to force Putin's hands. And Putin needs their support to do everything he wants to do politically. Besides, Putin is politically savvy also. My concern is that no cracks should appear in the Western alliance and that alternatives markets such as those in China and India should also join the embargo with the West. The Western alliance cannot afford to lose the Chinese and Indian markets which could happen if they impose the economic sanctions on these two countries in the event of a violation of their embargo on Russia. Another scenario is the return to Cold war where we start arming the Ukrainian forces to the teeth and the Russians do the same with the rebels.
