1989 murder: By my calculations Windham or someone like him could be living in your neighborhood and mine, since at least 2009 in Windhams case. You support that, I don't. I can explain my position, but you can't or are afraid to.

Jeremy was attending high school, and had just gotten his first job. He planned to save enough to buy a motorcycle. He also wanted some cowboy boots, which he was planning to buy with his first paycheck. He was a happy young man who loved pizza. He also loved baseball. Jeremy was on his way home from school when he was ambushed by Terry Joe Windham who struck him from behind with a 4x4 fence post. Then Windham struck him 15 more times, and left Jeremy's body in a ditch. Windham, who said he wanted to see what it felt like to kill, bragged about the murder to his brother and friends, and took them to see Jeremy's body. As police investigated the scene, Windham was on the sidelines watching, bragging, laughing and threatening to kill anyone who told on him.

He was arrested on the scene and later confessed. He plea bargained for 20 years in prison. Jeremy was buried in the cowboy boots.

This family found out that Life in Prison does not mean Life in Prison, it means until the Parole board decides to release the heinous criminal.

Kim Harrington: In 1983, Dean Hernandez murdered my twin sister Kathy Durman in Port Arthur Texas. He is serving a life sentence. This was not his first offense. In 1976, he was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas State Prison for the attempted murder of another former girlfriend. This offense took place in Groves, Texas. For the last 16 years, my family, Kathy's friends, and myself have fought very parole hearing against the parole of Dean Hernandez, and will continue to do so! For everyone whose has to go through this I say to you...... "Never give up!"

peace be with you - Kim Harrington and Family

"I'm tired of digging Kathy up every three years," she said. "We can't finish grieving because of the parole hearings"

Hernandez is currently incarcerated at the Stringfellow Unit in Rosharon where he is classified as an attendant at the unit. He will come up for parole review late this year. He has served time in Huntsville, East Ham Unit, Darrington and Michael Unit, according to Jason Clark with the Texas Department of Corrections.

There are thousands of cases like this. You support this system, I don't. I can explain my position, you can't or are afraid to.
