In this industry (chip) there is a lot of stuffing the channel and over ordering.

In terms of overall investment strategy, my best guess is that the market may (again, may) have exhausted itself and -- as I have been saying all year -- I don't think the Fed can taper to zero without the stock market being hit hard. Thus, today I bought October puts on a handful (for the first time since 2008) of PC-related companies (namely, Intel, Micron, Seagate Technology, and Western Digital) because I suspect that the one-off help of the Windows XP expiration is essentially behind us.
