We haven't had a Depression since the Fed? That is the height of ignorance. The Great Depression was created by the Fed and presided over by the Fed. The recent Great Recession is just as bad as the Great Depression, the only difference being that we have way more welfare and food stamps to blunt the catastrophic impacts to the poorest among us. If we used the same measuring sticks as we did back in the 30's, we would absolutely have called what we're in now the Great Depression 2. However, we've adjusted our metrics to the point where they simply aren't comparable to the 30s anymore. So we all live in this fantasy land where there's never any inflation and the 99% are as happy as clams. The reality is far different.

I suppose Florida, and particularly this Republican Guv, always wants to make news, even if doing so is bad for the Floridians.
