David: I've said it before and I'll say it again. NRI's technology has been bought by CAI and Unisys plus a host of others. NRI has the following powerhouse products: 1. SAF Window NT 2. SAF Unicenter TNG 3. SAF Microsoft Server IIS 4. HAAPI My layman's interpretation of HAAPI is that, in a sense, NRI has come out with a universal plug which any biometric company of whatever median (facial, iris, fingerprint, palm, voice, etc) can buy and plug into the above SAF programs. Also, corporations using the above SAF programs have a choice of biometric medians or brands. For example, a mega bank using SAF can use iris scan in the east coast, fingerprinting in the south, fingerprinting in the west coast, voice in Honolulu, etc. NRI and IDX are two completely different companies. One is geared toward s/w while the other is h/w. IDX is a great company and I'm still an investor of it. Nevertheless, IDX has no products rivaling the above. The fact that DOD contracted NRI and not IDX to do the API should tell you something. Although money is a problem at this time, getting more money is no problem due to the above. Long ago, I have encouraged my IDX buds to take a position in NRI as I have alway felt that NRI is very very very smart. The aformentioned products, all introduced within the recent 1 year period, lend evidence to that. As NRI is a steal right now, you may wish to consider buying some. The world of biometric needs an API badly to hasten its acceptance/success. If most of the smaller biometric companies are willing to buy into HAAPI (and I can not see any reason why they would not), then there is a good chance that the entire biometric industry will use HAAPI.
