<<What do you mean "despite the fact that the companies have gone on record saying it will" What companies and when? Everything that I am finding points to the opposite.>>

The following have ALREADY come out this quarter, and we are weeks away from earnings numbers:

1. WDC has issued TWO earnings warnings and is taking an 85M+ charge. WDC cited industry oversupply and competitive pressures, which it expects to continue into next quarter.

2. Quantum issued earnings warning this week and has also cited competitive pressures and industry oversupply. This despite huge growth in DLT.

3. Seagate announced this past week it is closing a plant that has been open only 2 years.

4. APM expects MINIMUM 30% reduction in revenue and is taking a minimum 8M charge. Cited industry oversupply.

5. Singapore Technologies has liquidated Micropolis.

6. Korean companys Samsumg and Maxtor appear to be dumping, possibly due to collapse of the Won. This is in addition to comments by WDC suggesting Fujitsu is also dumping

Out of curiosity, what information do you have that suggests things will go well next month? All I am seeing is bad news with some hopeful statements.
