When one looks at the last 150 years of politics in the US the liberals by and large have made a good account of themselves exhibiting intelligence, and compassion.

The right wingers have been consistently stupid and brutal.

Maybe right winger was the wrong word for LBj. How about a megalomaniac :>)?

"He was described by friends, fellow politicians, and historians as motivated throughout his life by an exceptional lust for power and control. As Johnson's biographer Robert Caro observes, "Johnson's ambition was uncommon—in the degree to which it was unencumbered by even the slightest excess weight of ideology, of philosophy, of principles, of beliefs." [19]

Goldwater was a crazy right winger. Well, most of them are. But he was like Rand Paul.

One of the first books I read on my discovery of the world was The conscious of a Conservative. I think back on that often as I had no idea how wrong he was at the time. Or Ayn Rand.

I figured out both a few years later.

"LBJ (right winger)" passed voting rights act, civil rights act, medicare, and a few other things of note. He was a hawk, not a right winger, nor even a RW Dem.

if he's RW, what was Goldwater?
