It takes more than iron. Those pH levels also dissolve oyster shells, as Eric just pointed out for about the thousandth time.
And WHAT do oysters eat that provides them the energy and ability to rebuild their shells?

Plankton. Both Phyto and Zooplankton...

40% less phytoplankton equates to large percentage decrease in Zooplankton, meaning less food for Oysters to consume.

They may manage to survive, but there may not be enough available food for them to thrive.

Ever think about that? Can you rebuild damaged parts of your body if you're malnourished?
