Her 5 year old told me that her "Liberal father" told her that "Rich People are Mean". So we proceeded to the Toy/Clothes areas where we loaded up a shopping trolley full of toys and new clothes for her. ($600). As my niece approached the checkout area. She pushed the cart up to the Self Checkout? I asked her what she was doing. She said "checking out".. I said.. .No, No, No... You never go to the self-checkout. Because that takes peoples jobs away. I said, you see all those empty cash registers.. They are empty because you use the "self-checkout'. She said, I thought using the self-checkout helped society? I said, "That's what the press tells you", while in fact, it steals jobs from the 99% and enriches the 1%. She said.. "I never thought of it like that, that makes a lot of sense". I said, you complain that the 1% export all the jobs overseas.. You are a minion for the 1% because you outsource American jobs "to yourself", they have you tricked in to believing you are "bettering society" by using the "self-checkouts". But, you are enabling their policies to steal from the 99%. So we pushed the trolley to the car. Loaded up the cart, and she looked at me?? What do we do with the trolley? Do we take it to the Trolley corral. I said.. Nope.. push it up against the light pole so it can not roll and hit another car. But, that is someones JOB to collect the trolleys. Perhaps someone that has some challenges like Aspergers or something, but they can feel productive in a society with a job ferrying shopping buggies. I said.. Look at the sign.. it says "Keep our costs low, so we can save you money and return the carts to the buggy stall.".. You are working to save the 1% money so they don't have to hire more of the 99%.... So we are driving back to her apartment and I told her I would fill her mini-van up with gas. She pulls into a gas station and pulls up to the "Self-service pump". I asked her what she was doing? She said "getting gas". I said, "There is a full-service island over there." She said, "but it's 10 cents a gallon more!! " Of course it is, but someone needs this job, and you should support that.. 10 cents a gallon? Really, you are worried about 10 cents a gallon, and you rally for $15 an hour minimum wage? She went on and on about the $15 an hour minimum wage.. I told her.. Look, when the minimum wage goes to $15 an hour in the US.. But, SHE doens't want to pay for it.. I told her.. You think we have an illegal immigration crisis now.. You raise minimum wage to $15 an hour.. And you are going to have a full-on invasion.. I told her same thing for separating recycling. They hire people who sort the refuge going into the landfills. You make it more profitable for the 1%'ers at Wast Management to "presort it for them" so they hire less people to perform these jobs. There are lots of issues to support "Social Consciousness Issues".. but, I simply don't participate in any of them that enrich the 1% and steal from the 99% and are cleverly disguised by the 1%'ers as "Social Consciousness". I told her.. "My apathy supports job creation and stands up for the 99%, your "social consciousness" in these instances only enrich the 1%". And so it goes, PCSTEL
