FYI

I received my external SparQ yesterday and put it though my informal drills. Here are my observations:

The installation went relatively smoothly on a Windows NT 4.0 Micron Pentium Pro 200 desktop. The instructions were geared for Win95 users, but when I read the front of the installation disk, I was able to figure out how to install on Win NT. The speed through the parallel port seemed quick. Contrary to what the salesperson told me, the drive has a pass through parallel port for a printer or another device. I have a hasp attached and both the drive and the hasp appear to be working well. I was waiting to buy the internal version for home, but with the speed and pass through parallel port, I might change my mind and buy the external version.

I believe SyQuest has a terrific product here. For the record, I knew very little about SyQuest a couple of weeks ago and live a few miles from Iomega's world headquarters. I currently don't have a position in the stock but I am getting close to buying some shares.
