Forgive me for being a little slow, but i am not quite clear on why
you are(x)historical P.E. (14) by E/Share ($2.00) to arrive at current fair value. My understanding is that you (x) expected future
growth (the market currently thinks 7-10%) x E/Share, which expains
the current valuations. In anycase, i hope we get back to $28 level soon. I got in at $30 and i am not really worried because i am sure
that it will turn around. In fact, i am considering getting more to average my purchase price to $25.00. Good luck to all of you...
SMA.

I believe last year the 10K came out last week a year ago. I am going to try to call D. Keller in a few minutes and I will let you know if I talk to him.

Carlson, Zachs calculates their numbers on a straight average, and based on this approach they'r correct, I'm sure. However, these are the numbers from valueline:
1988: 12.2
1989: 15.5
1990: 9.9
1991: 26.1
1992: 19.8
1993: 9.6
1994: 13.2
1995: 9.6
1996: 8.9
1997: 9.5 (est.--optimistic?)
Average for the ten years is 13.43---but the two years 1991 and 1992 were years in which earnings were anomolous- .05 and .06--and, in fairness, I think one ought to drop the weird years if one wants a real estimate as to historic P/E. If one does this, one gets 11.05
as a historic P/E.
Ah--I like your numbers better. Can we just forget the whole thing?
Nah--I guess not.
Jim
