Bonnie, no need to be crude, I did not say that the oxide of silver does not exist, I said that the environmental mode of surface deterioration of silver is via interaction with nitrogen and sulphur (and actually the actual modes are related to traces in atmosphere of HNO(3) and H(2)S. Yes, I will accept your apology, and will tolerate even major errors. Are you god on this thread that you tolerate or do not tolerate?

Under some conditions even the oxides of nobles exist (the oxide of osmium is a particular problem because its instability renders it toxic and it is a gas at room temperature).
