[Off topic: TXN]

<<<Ok I'll bite...........what's up at TXN? >>>

TXN owns 45% of the DSP market. Its two closest competitors don't have that much combined. TI just bought Amati, a small ADSL company that owns the ANSI and ETSI standard DMT patents for the technology --- with licensing agreements with MOT, ALA, ADI, NEC/Japan, PAIR, Nortel, and TXN, and development contracts with Siemens, NEC, and MOT. The only major ADSL company who hasn't licensed is Orckit, and their partner, Fujitsu, has stated publicly they'll be ANSI/ETSI-compliant. Which means they'll license.

But highspeed data modems is not the only sector TI's developing. For a further explanation, read the following:

ti.com

Because they own the biggest share of the DSP market and because they're the leader in DSP research and development, they've been called the next Intel --- or the Intel of DSPs.

The stock's been in a downtrend for several months, so I'd watch awhile before loading up. Well, that's what my left brain says. I've already started buying.
