IB charges a lot more fees than they did years ago, it seems to me.

re:
IRA Account - US Security and Commodity Exchange Fee: $10
US Options Level 1 Fee: $1.50
Every 3 months the account shows an IRA Quarterly Fee: $7.50

I just moved one of my retirement accounts to IB to try them out. It's definitely a step up in complexity from the retail environment I'm used to, but I'm hoping it's the right move for a quant based strategy I'm starting that is going to require a bit more trading than I might normally have (probably @ 100% annual turnover).

I'm only trading stocks and am only expecting the $7.50 quarterly fee given account balance over the 100K limit to negate the $10 monthly activity fees if I fall short (probably will in some months). I'm not sure about the $10 US Security and Commodity Exchange Fee you mention. Is that unrelated to a stock account?

I guess anyhow, I'm only expecting the $7.50. We'll see what happens. I'll post back once I'm more familiar w/ how things work.

On another tangent: I'm selecting the fixed commission structure. It's so cheap for what I do that it doesn't seem to matter - heck, 1000 shares is only $5 and less is cheaper - but I was wondering if most are using the fixed or tiered commission option? (I only trade stocks) thanks
