I will try to answer:
You build pages of symbols. Several quote windows can be displayed at the same time. The quote window allows you to develop custom quote pages, access charts, print quotes to the printer, export quotes to an ASCII text file, display a ticker tape, find related news stories, and view a Time & Sales window for a selected symbol. You can also view the Top-100 symbols from each market group in several categories.
The following price values can be selected from the drop down box: clear, open, high, low, last, volume, open interest, bid, bid size, bid time, ask, ask size, ask time, 52 week high, 52 week low, beta, net change, net bid, net open, t- time (time of the last tick), tick counter, tick volume, yesterday's close price, price/earnings ratio, 52 week high date, 52 week low date, market, name, yield, bid yield, ask yield, dividend, x-dividend date, earnings per share, strike price, price scale, interval, %change, % off High, % off Low, up and down arrows. Also, the up, down, unchanged, and total price fields can be used for exchange statistics quotes. The % off High calculation is: (high-last)/last. The % off Low calculation is: (last-low)/low.
The ticker tape will only scroll the symbols that are currently displayed in the quote window. For example, if you resize the quote window so that 15 symbols are displayed, then those 15 symbols will scroll across the title bar when any price changes occur. This allows you to specify the symbols that are scrolled on the ticker tape, based on the symbols currently displayed in the window. Bid and Ask prices for the selected symbol will scroll with a lower case 'a' or 'b' following the price. Since multiple quote windows can be displayed at the same time, each quote window title bar will have its own ticker tape. Cascading the quote windows allows you to see all the ticker tapes.
I don't use the ticker tape as a trading tool. I do open a time& sales window for stocks I am trading.
