Isn't the brand part of the merit of the iPhone? What makes you think that brand can or should be separated?
Shouldn't be separated. It's just that one reason may be more durable than another. If the attraction is driven by wealthy Chinese who admire any American brand, that could be shorter lived than if driven by the average Chinese citizen who finds the iPhone superior and it just happens to be American-made.
