Companies like Xaiomi are no joke and are revered Certainly, the Chinese are proud of a company like Xiaomi. Coming out of nowhere suddenly to command such a huge market share is impressive by any measure. But if you offer a smart phone with good features at cost and one that looks like the real thing to boot, of course people are going to gravitate toward it. What would really be interesting is if Xiaomi were to sell a phone at $650 or higher. Will it be more popular than the iPhone? I doubt it. National pride be hanged; at that price, people will go for the iPhone. And Xiaomi knows it.
