Seems to me a hot button for lefties, must be the topic on their Journolist today. They all came out flailing away with everything but the kitchen sink when I mentioned it.

It is applied unequally. Some companies pay the full tax. Others pay zero. Most are in between. Profits are often decoupled from how much tax is paid. It depends on how good the lobbyists are that you hire.
So it isn't a level field. That is bad for the economy.
