Decades ago I read The Arabian Nights. The shifting allegiances and whatnot were apparently representative of some reality, which continues to this day: <All in all not good, and it is a proof that the Israeli Arab conflict is a side show and cover up of the real issues that instigate wars and mayhem in the ME. >

I don't recall Israel featuring in the book.
