I did have my doubts about First Solar's panels and I'm slowly coming around.

They have had some recalls under warrantee.

Plus they are heavier than Si based panels (per watt, sq. ft)

They are easier to install "ground mounted".

For rooftop Si is the way to go.

My personal gold standard is mono silicon built by SunPower.

The Chinese tier one manufacturers are good too.
