research 1234, I don't disagree with your thinking. It was not inflation in itself that was so bad - it was the very rapid rate of the increase. If not brought under control, the economy was in danger of imploding- think of the history of Germany or Argentina. Where would you like to draw the line and say the rate of inflation is too high and now we need to reign it in? Nobody was suggesting in first part of Reagans term to not worry about inflation.

That's exactly right. Inflation did not hurt us. We all survived it and came out smiling - except those those who were hoarding cash and gold.
