Looks like You Tube has a bunch of these.

These scammers just love the Windows Key + R combination. I had never even used the Windows key until the scammers had me use it the first time they called.

And they love the www.ammyy.com website

I feel much more confident dealing with these scammers having participated in this message board for the last several months.

Today I was hoping they would try to sell me their service contract or repair service, but they never did. They were so intent on getting remote access to my computer, and tried again and again using several different methods.

Interesting that they called asking for the person [by name] who had my phone number before I had it. I get a lot of calls asking for that person, so at first I did not think it was a scam call. Initially I explained that this person no longer has the phone number, and could they please take me off their call list. Only then did the person pursue the "I am from Microsoft and your computer has a virus" tactic. And that "this virus will allow someone to hack into your computer."

They installed a password app on this guy's computer to lock him out of his computer

They also tried to take control of his webcam

Luckily he is a tech guy affiliated with a TV station
