Saddam wasn't so bad, overall, relatively. He was hardly a harbinger of joy and freedom, but he kept a lid on the carnage, for the most part, unless he was prompted by April Glaspie or earlier exponents of attacking Iran as payback for the hostages in Tehran. As a solution to the ickiness of Iraq and environs, the USA/UN 2003 WMD invasion and conquest did not contribute much of worth. Which is not surprising. Those who went chose to do it. No doubt many of the maimed and without husbands and fathers are reflecting on the value they achieved and are not enthralled. The taxpayers who were defrauded "to get those WMDs" are also chastened. But hey, lookit Ukraine. Woohoo... lock and load and let's get those Russkies!! Hooray for WWI. Reenactment now under way, exactly 100 years later. This time with noocular bombs for added special effects on tv. Live. Or dead, depending on your situation. There is no time for elections or referenda in eastern Ukraine [though there apparently is in Scotland]. Mqurice
