Hazelwood Resources finds tungsten treasure in gold at Mt Mulgine

Ferrotungsten producer Hazelwood Resources (ASX:HAZ) is finding that one man's junk is another man's treasure at Mt Mulgine project in the mid-west of Western Australia.

Overburden mined by the gold operator has been found to contain valuable tungsten mineralisation.

Which is exciting stuff as sampling of grade control holes that had been drilled by the owner of the gold rights to the Mt Mulgine project has found a significant new tungsten zone at Bobby McGee which is now being mined and stockpiled on site.

The new significant tungsten mineralisation is 320 metres along strike from and adjoining the Mulgine Trench Mineral Resource.

Hazelwood owns 100% of the rights to the tungsten.

This means that Hazelwood is now effectively a tungsten miner - in addition to its status as one the world's globally significant producers of tungsten master alloys at the ATC ferrotungsten project in Vietnam.

Analysis

The new discovery of near surface tungsten at Bobby McGee is extremely valuable to Hazelwood given the objective of becoming a vertically integrated specialty metals company.
