Tejek (I think) posted some photos here of the beach at Gaza and the beach in Israel. Subsequently, I looked at it on Google Earth as well as along the Northern Sinai. I really don't see how Israel started with any big advantage. It is really a question of what they decided to do with what they had. I really respect and admire success and by any metric the Jews have been successful with their land.
