I was appalled, too, and Nixon was a serious criminal. >> Nothing Obama has done comes anywhere close to what Nixon did. While I have stated clearly here that I don't believe Obama can be proved to have committed "high crimes and misdemeanors" worthy of impeachment, Obama's abuses are far more serious than Nixon's. In that Obama has blatantly violated his oath to uphold the Constitution. And it isn't just in a limited context; it is all over the place. It presents kind of interesting dichotomy that you are constantly whining about concentration of wealth but seem to have no issue at all with concentration of power. Wealth is a problem in that is concentrated in the hands of a few, but the most awesome political power is now being concentrated in the hands of one person -- and a particularly inept person, at that. Perhaps you don't see any nexus, but I certainly do. Because money and power aren't that different. Obama has seized power to which he isn't entitled like no president since our Constitution was written. And it has left us one untimely heart attack on the Supreme Court away from absolute disaster; if Alito or Roberts dropped dead tomorrow, we would be positioned for an absolute gutting of the Constitution at the hands of this president, particularly if Ginsberg decided to bail before Obama leaves. So, while Nixon blatantly conducted himself in a criminal manner, Obama has been far more lawless. And frankly, everyone agrees Obama's administration has been the most obfuscated in history (which is, evidently, responsible for his reelection).
