I have heard some rumours that Hyundai has started making many very high level cut backs in disk drive division. Seem to indicate dwindiling support for DD due to their own financial problems.

Toko;
Maxtor is being very quiet about that one for the moment. I spoke to a fairly senior Maxtor manager in Singapore last night and the response was that there had been no change in plans. So that should mean the ground is broken and construction is under way. As to the second question, I would not want to second guess the tenacity of Hyundai at this point. Keep in mind that they are also building a huge media plant in Kulim , Malaysia. That work is still underway.
