Words have plain meanings. This isn't politics. Words have hard, fast, determined meanings. It's no different than math, physics, chemistry, or engineering. You can take the politics of "interpretation" and shove it, because, lies and "interpretation" don't cut it in math, science, physics, chemistry, engineering and English. College entrance exams aren't graded on the "interpretation" of English words in the dictionary. In fact, scholarly papers aren't written based on "interpretations" of words. Words have well established meanings that have lasted. What you are promoting would result in nobody understanding what anybody else is really trying to communicate. That is firmly against civilization and civilized society.
