For the larger class of users i.e. major corporations, Ethernet will fade out given some time. Ethernet lans were first to the market and IMHO have al;most reached theior peak of sales. Yuries nitch is not the backbone but is rather the concentrator that feels the voice,data and video to the big backbone switch.
